Picnicking & Fishing at Illawong Bay

Date: 30 November 2013
Location: Illawong Bay, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park

A free and easy Saturday outing with friends for a picnic at the park nearby the bay.

Barbequing, chatting and fishing throughout the day till sunset and lastly group photo session.

Fishing...
Not really an easy activity actually as it is kinda type of a very technical stuff to handle with.
Need to know the condition of the location, what is required, what technique to use, what type of fish in that location and the list goes on.
Anyway, enjoyed the activity with mates although got no catch.

43rd AMSA Annual Dinner

Date: 24 November 2013
Location: River Canyon Restaurant, Parramatta

Joined the Australian Malaysian Singaporean Association (AMSA) as part of the sub-committee members in organising their 43rd Annual Dinner.

Assisted them in managing the on-stage performances of the night with help from other members as well to make sure the programmes went on smoothly.

The function kicked off with Australia National Anthem followed by the silat performance by Mr. Latif as the opening ceremony of the event and a Malay song presentation by the Malay community here in Sydney.

Then, the welcoming speech by the emcees of the night along with sponsors acknowledgement and some housekeeping announcement as well as Raffle draw collection.

President of AMSA gave her speech after that and also a keynote speech by Geoff Lee (Parramatta MP) followed by a cake cutting ceremony together with Director of Education Malaysia Australia, Sydney (Hajah Dr. Jumiati).

The much awaited moments of the night were the buffet-styled food of the restaurant (also local Malaysian food catered by Abang Sam) and Raffle draw with the major prize of a return flight ticket to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines.

There were also some performances throughout the night such as Irish dance, Bollywood dance, medley songs presentation, and Brazilian dance.

Finally, DJ of the restaurant took over for an open floor dance which ended the event of the night.

Snippets of the event...

*Not able to snap photos throughout the whole event (on duty to liaise with performers), so those were the few shots available & credit to one of my mates here, Goku, for some of the shots taken...

Picnicking on Labour Day

Date: 6 October 2013
Location: Jamieson Park, Narrabeen Lake

Long weekend break of the week as the Labour Day fell on a Sunday.
Went out picnicking with foster family and friends at Jamieson Park after found out the spot at Dee Why beach area is fully packed with people.

A relaxing Sunday outing, barbequing and had our lunch together.
Also played badminton there but it's a bit windy sometimes.
Walked around the park before went back home.

Cycling Adventure at Royal National Park

Date: 5 October 2013
Location: Lady Carrington Drive trail at Royal National Park

Another free and easy ride of the day (not the whole ride though).
Love this ride as I get to experience a 10km off-road trail at Royal National Park (one of the trails for cycling and a not too difficult trail for an amateur off-road rider like me).

Departed from home with bike on-train and got off at Loftus station.
From the station, went across the Princes Highway and rode along the highway for about 1km and turned into Farnell Avenue to get to Lady Carrington Drive trail (passing through Audley Road and Sir Bertram Stevens Drive before made a slight turn onto the trail).

Nice on-road ride all the way from Farnell Avenue (about 3km) with some winding road going down hill before reaching the trail start point.
Stopped at one of the parks there and took some photos around before continued on with the off-road ride.

Shots taken along the way getting to Lady Carrington Drive cycling trail...

The journey on Lady Carrington Drive off-road cycling trail...

The most tiring part that really took my breath off throughout the ride was after the off-road ride where I was on the way riding up to Waterfall station through McKell Avenue.
It was an uphill winding road ride all the way for about 4.7km before I manage to reach the train station.
Damn exhausting but it was a great experience although I have to stop for quite a number of times all along the way.

One of the stops for me to catch a breath and some shots taken of the National Falls of Royal National Park from top view...

Cycling Exploration to Chipping Norton Lake

Date: 28 September 2013
Location: Chipping Norton Lake, Liverpool

It was a free and easy ride, took own sweet time exploring the area and stopped at some spots snapping photos.

Brought my bike onto the train with me from home and got off at Liverpool train station.
Nowadays, so much easier to navigate for destination with GPS signal and Google Maps on the mobile phone.

Took the route from Liverpool station --> Newbridge Road --> Bridges Road, started the journey of exploration going through some of the parks at Lake Moore before reaching Chipping Norton Lake.

First stop at Haigh Park and across the bridge passing through McMillan Park...

Shots along the way from McMillan Park to Quota Park...

Some of the shots around Chauvel Park and under the bridge going towards Langhof Park...

Around Chipping Norton Lake area passing through South Park and Angle Park...

At Grand Flaneur Beach area...

Around Homestead Park and along the way to Dhurawal Bay...

The view at Dhurawal Bay and off-road ride to Riverside Road...

End of the exploration around Chipping Norton Lake and headed back, slow and steady ride through to Newbridge Road, Milperra Road and back to home...
