UPSI Leadearship Course 2009(Kursus Kepimpinan Mahasiswa UPSI 2009)was being held from21-25 November 2009. We were being informed of the date and location on the 19th of November 2009. So I was already involved with the Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman's camp from 20-22 November 2009(already confirmed a month earlier).
Anyway and anyhow I was being informed that it iscompulsory for me to attend this course. As such, the concerned party has written an excuse letter for me to attend it 1 day late which I will only be attending it on 22nd of November 2009.
I left the YTAR camp on Saturday (21/11/2009) night. OnSunday (22/11/2009)went to Kolej Aminuddin Baki (KAB)to report my attendance. At first, I felt so weird why need to go so far to board a van/bus, why not just take it at campus...but then just follow the order...
I thought they had already left UPSI and went to Kem Bina Negara Lipis, Pahang on 21/11/2009. Then only I know, we would be having theLeadership Course there for 2 daysbefore departing to Pahang (23-25 November 2009)for a Biro Tatanegara Course.
I just reached and was to take my tag and file then wanted to silent my phone but then the officer informed me thatphone will be kept throughout the course. Haih...I haven't inform any of my family members about this matteror any of my close friendsabout it andimmediately need to off my phone and hand in to them...
I was very attracted to the games whichneed our attention and focusto react upon the response. Will spread out this to my friends out there who do handle camp or course to students, it was really fun... :-)
On23 November 2009,wedeparted to Kem Bina Negara Lipis, Pahang at about 8:50am and reached there around 2pm (took quite long because was using the Kuala Lumpur route, the nearer route would be the Fraser's Hill which we used while on the way back to UPSI from the course)...
Well, it was a BTN course so I think most of us know what is the content of it. We are Malaysian...!!! :-) Oh yea, this campsite is one of the adventure BTN campsites apart from the one in Ulu Kenas, Perak. Our module is not of the physical stuff so most of our activities were on discussions andteamwork through indoor challenges. Of course it is also compulsory for us to hand in our phone, so no handphone throughout this course also...
But we do had the chance to experience two physical stuff which were the flying fox and night jungle walk... Flying foxok lar...before this do experienced it but it was in a position of sitting with 'L' shaped legs. The one we were having here was infree-style,we were flying like superman...yihaaa...very exciting and I like it very much...hehe...
One of my favorite is the Night Jungle Walk... On Tuesday (24 November 2009) night after our indoor activity ended at around 11:30pm, we went for our supper drink. We got news that we will be having some activity later on in the mid-night or early morning but don't know what time, so we wentback to our roomhad some restand yea did sleep also...
So cameWednesday (25 November 2009),at 2am the physical instructors made announcement and even put on firecrackers I guess (there was a few loud explosions). Haha...we didn't get out immediately but stilltaking our time washed our faceand brushed our teeth... When everybody is done and lined up outside, it was already 2:30am.
After some brief instructions, we went into the jungle and everyone waited for the turn towalk in the jungle alonebyholding on to the rope tied from tree to tree as a guide for us(no torchlight allowed of course for this activity)... Yeah, it wasdark at firstbut as being told by one of my 'guru' 2 weeks back, after a few seconds we actually can walk in the darkness(this is true)... Climbing up the hill was fun also because it wasa bit slippery and steep, luckily I wore the proper shoes...and of course did hold on to the tree(hug the tree) to climb up...hehe...
Overall, it was not too bad and all the modules that had been planned for us were tobuild a stronger leader with more self-confidence,trustworthy,loyalty,responsibilityand teamwork...
No photos of activities becauseno handphones and camera allowed... So after getting back the phone at the end of the course, before leaving the campsite,I managed to capture "a bit"...hehe...
This time the camp was being held atResidence Hotel, Universiti Tenaga Nasionalfrom20-22 November 2009...
OnFriday (20 November 2009),just the procedure ofcheck-in to the hotelthen somebriefing by our CEO at night then lights off and thenext morning, morning walk/run together with our CEO... Well, there were some of us lost the way and ended up the session a bit earlier than the team with CEO...hehe...(we should move faster next time then, so that we won't lose the way)...
So, the concept for this camp was more ondiscussion aboutTunku Abdul Rahman's speeches towards our independence. The few chapters which we discussed on were theBaling Talks,Malay Rights,Malay Culture,Nation Unity,First Development Plan, and the Constitution... The group discussion went on with the help of lecturers from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
My group members... In the evening, the Frisbee Challengewas a very exciting game although it was my first time as a sports student... Some more we wereplaying in the rain...haha...unforgettable momentand there were some of you guyssliding all over the field to catch the disc... ;-)
Huhu...a bit sadbecause this time around and for the first timeI left camp earlier. Also a bit disappointedbecausenot much photo snapping from me... :-( On Saturday (21 November 2009)night, directly after the programme ended at 11:30pm, went back to my room, took my stuff andboarded the UPSI's van at 11:50pm.
Sorry yea my fellow friends (Tunku Scholars),didn't even say a good byeto all of you andI left the camp in such a rush. Gotta attendUPSI's Leadership Course the next day...
I was wonderinghow was the Physical Teston Sunday (22 November 2009) morningwhich I missed out... Fun...???Tiring...???Exhausted...???Exciting...???Motivating...???
Look forward to meeting all of you again in thecoming camp in 2010...
This sem exam ended on the13th of November 2009...directly after the last paper ended I went toJelebu, Negeri Sembilan for a hiking trip to Gunung Besar Hantujoining the IMU studentsbeing handled by the Kenaboi Adventure Team(actually I was with the adventure team...)
Nothing much onFriday the 13th,some more when reached at the campsite it was quite late already. Just some briefingby the team managerto the IMU students. Then, we, the managing team packed our stuff for the expedition of the next morning.
On the14th of November 2009, everyone was soexcited on the hiking trip and there weresome warming up session before departing to the starting point of the expedition.
Some activities together with the IMU students... Starting of the trip... So theteam managerand one of the memberstogether with me,just accompany the students for some distance. Then the three of us gottahead back to the campsite, have a look on the Kenaboi International River Challenge eventand assist on what is needed. It was aRiver Challenge event, so the whole day justmoving around looking at the participantsandfollow where ever our team manager go...hehe...
At night, we went to...if I'm not mistaken, Sungai Puom (can't remember lorr....) Chit chatting at there and there were performances...
Performance by the Negeri Sembilan's Cultural group I guess (this was the last part where they asked the participants to join together)...
The last day,15 November 2009, there wasRapid Challenge and it was so exciting to watch all the participants compete among each other. Some of the participants from UPSI Starting of the challenge During the challenge (some pics only)... The champion for this category was still being defended by the previous champion, Encik Benderi (my lecturer)... Congrats to my friends as well, all of them did bring back victory(both in the River Challenge and also the Rapid Challenge)...
During the closing ceremony, the most exciting part was the competition of catching the ducks...
It was my first time watching such event and one of my friends did joined in. He managed to catch three ducks and brought back to UPSI...hehe...
Really want tothank the team, bringing me up to more experiences of all these...thank you!!!
Woah...another big gap of my last post posted up here... Waskinda busy with somany stuff coming in and out...
So after my exam ended on the 13th of November 2009, directly I went for ahiking campinJelebu, Negeri Sembilanfrom 13-15 November 2009.
Then from20-22 November 2009 was having theYayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman campfor the Tunku Scholars being held inResidence Hotel, Universiti Tenaga Nasional.
Got oneUPSI Leadership Course from21-25 November 2009being held inKem Bina Negara Lipis, Pahang.
There was a clash between the Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman camp and the UPSI Leadership Course, so I was to leave the Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman camp on the night of 21 November 2009 and attended the UPSI Leadership Course one day late which is on the 22nd of November 2009...
Will post up on each and every of the camp and course in the upcoming post...(hopefully)
This coming week, need to attend anothercompulsory course which will be held from1-3 December 2009 but stilldon't know of the location yet...
Hohoho...busy...busy...busy...my shortest sem break ever...
Haha...here is the post about theFroggy + Small Little Bitter Gourd Soup which I took for4 consecutive days (2-5 November 2009)after anunexpected fever from 29 October 2009 till 1 November 2009...
So I was having awhole body joint pain after I woke up on 29 October 2009 morning. Then was justtaking paracetamol, hoping to get rid the pain. But thenit was all no use because the fever was "on and off"...
Something weird happened for the first time in my life of having a fever. On themid-night of 1st November 2009 after taking my medicine and supplements, suddenly my whole body was shivering like a Parkinson patient.
I wasafraid at that moment because my whole body was shaking for more than half an hour and I wasgasping for oxygen lying on the bed... Luckily it did went off but I could not take in any medicine because kept on vomitting out everything, sojust sleptafter the "powerful shivering" of my body...haha...
And because of that sudden shivering, my whole bodygot so tired and I waslack of energyat that morning. I thought everything is okay on that Sunday morning (1 November 2009) but thefever strucked back at night,so my auntie asked my parents to quickly send me to the hospital for a blood testbecause worried if it was a dengue.
So went for a blood test at thegovernment's hospital...gottawait for about 1 hour man to see the doctor...!!! When it was my turn, Ientered the roomlike a drunk personbecause I wasfeeling very dizzy.
Then there's one guy to put on the IV for me,he was so clumsy... I think it's becausehe was a bit slow and as such myblood was dripping out before he insert the IV stuff, so there wassome blood on my pants and on the bed...
Waited for about another 1 hour for the result... Then the doctor said there was nothing serious, it's just that myneutrophil was too high...(I think I came across this term when study Biology but can't remember what is it...hehe...) So just need another blood test on the next day for a comparison...
Before went back home at that same night, got 1 injection at my buttock... I just can't understand why should there be 2-3 guys to accompany me during the injection... I'm not a little child...or they have nothing to do...
Haha...sohere's the photos of the delicious soup prepared by my mom (8 hours put into steaming to get the soup)... Thank you so much mom, everytime when I fall sick or went for operation, you are the one sacrificing your time to accompany me... I owe you mom...!!!
Why am Iso so so slowin updating my blog recently...??? Doesn't matter lar...as long as I am still updating it...
So this is a post about my course having a "jamuan" with our mentor on 20 October 2009. I named itD.R.T.--> DeepaRayaTanglung because it was held after all those 3 celebrations... :-)
I am getting lazy to type lots of words, so as usual...pictures will tell the story...hehe...
That's my class leader with my mentor Self-service... Meal time... Speech by our mentor End of the meal...
